TURBINE ANIMATION
Sulzer wanted to showcase its innovative HT-SJT hydraulic power recovery turbine technology for FPSO applications. A high-end 3D animation was produced to demonstrate the engineering principles behind the technology while supporting product marketing initiatives and building customer engagement.
THE
CHALLENGE
Aimed at an engineering audience, the animation needed to communicate intricate internal turbine mechanics, fluid flow behaviour and energy recovery processes in a way that was technically accurate. At the same time, it was key to make the video visually engaging and easy for wider audiences to appreciate the benefits of the system.
THE M+T
SOLUTION
A true-to-life 3D animation featuring a highly detailed product visualisation was developed to visualise water flow through the turbine system. To provide context and make the solution more relatable to the audience, a FPSO vessel was developed and the HRPT positioned on it. Cinematic transitions, internal cross-sections and fluid simulations clearly demonstrated the energy recovery process.
THE
RESULTS
The final animation provided Sulzer with a powerful marketing and educational tool, clearly showcasing the turbine’s engineering, performance benefits and FPSO application in an engaging and visually impactful format. The video and key renders have been used in sales literature, presentations, across social media and the Sulzer website.
